Dear all who care to read,
i have some experience with drupal, but not much, and in developing themes for this applicatoin framework you owuld copy the exisiting styles.css paste it into the themes folder under your new themes name, make any slight adjustments to the style sheet that you want leaving the original style sheet as is. that way if there are any updates to the originating style sheet you won't have to over write your theme. sooooooo my question is
how does this apply to this frame work? i hear something in the docs about some includes in another folder?

Hi there,
the easiest is simply to copy the included Merced theme and rename it (like Merc2), reload the app and it shows up as an option under Site Settings. Then go ahead and tweak what you'd like in for example site.css and typography.css.
Any updates to your site core files will never touch your own folders.
Hope this helps - I'm still learning myself :-)
